January 21st Grooming Report
Brilliant Day!
After a bit of a gray start, the sun is blasting through the thinning clouds, creating a luminescent wonderland in the freshly washed landscape of trees, mountains, meadows, and ski trails. Overnight about 5 inches of fresh powder was the soap of the fresh wash of the Trail Creek network.
Our trusty Husky has been hard at work on that five inches this morning, covering almost every trail with at least a single skate/classic pass with the fields and Moose Loop receiving multiple passes. Skating is just a tad soft this morning but that doesn’t seem to be suppressing the smiles of the early morning skiers. With a temp approaching freezing, if classic skiers can nail their wax, it should be an awesome day to ski the trails.
Word has it that there will be a few Prep/Comp skiers at Trail Creek this afternoon in addition to the Junior team, many of our area high school age Nordic skiers will be in Laramie today and tomorrow for a Wyoming High School race. Start lists for today’s skate race are up on Webscorer; results will probably be up later today and hopefully posted here tomorrow. Tomorrow’s venue is classic.
Groomer’s choice for today is Gut Flop in the “best of the year” condition.
