January 20th Grooming Report
One More Race Picture!
There were so many amazing things happening over the weekend that at least one more race picture had to be shared in this report. Thanks again to all who helped!
Trail Creek started the day frosty and cold with a strong inversion in place. As of 11:30 AM temps have warmed a bit but are still a bit chilly at -12ºC/10ºF. The sun is starting to peak through and the calm conditions are preventing the rapid disintegration of the inversion with current temps on the mountain tops near freezing.
As far as skiing goes today, you’ll find nothing but lots of really nice conditions. Except for a few instances of elk damage, most classic tracks are crisp, sharp, and kickable and skate lanes are likewise firm and fast. The Pisten Bully was out on many trails today although quite a bit of today’s grooming was dedicated to out of the way opportunities for our young skiers that you too can explore if you make it out today.
Now that the big qualifier race is out of the way, the next major event on the Trail Creek horizon is the Nordic Carnival on February 8th. Look for more information to come in the days ahead.
Groomer’s choice for today is the East Fields.
