January 20th Grooming Report

January Thaw!

While we have flirted with freezing in the past few weeks, today is an honest to goodness thaw day at Trail Creek.  Overnight we received about three inches of very dense snow which is in the process of raining down from the trees.  Don’t let these temperatures dissuade you from venturing forth as skiing in these warm conditions can be a load of fun.

Today’s grooming involved the Pisten Bully covering all major trails with double passes.  The first pass placed fresh classic tracks while the second pass was skate only.  The only sections not groomed were a few minor trails on the National Forest.  It has been quite busy today with dozens of smiling skiers chasing the Pisten Bully through the woods, but there is still plenty of time for you to make your own warm adventure today!

As of 12:30 PM peaks of sunshine are penetrating the clouds, the wind is mostly calm, and the temperature is 3ºC/38ºF.

Groomer’s choice for today is Cle’s Climb.
