January 19th Grooming Report
Heading Out!
Four buddies were heading out for a great Nordic ski earlier today at Trail Creek. While temps are not overly warm with a report time reading of 7º, it actually didn’t get as cold as forecast last night. Combine that with about an inch of fresh snow, and the Husky was able to make some good headway today; if you and your buddies want a great Nordic ski, today is your day.
Today’s early morning grooming started with a single pass through nearly every trail in the woods. This was followed up with extensive grooming throughout the fields. Trails that received multiple passes today include the fields, Moose Poop, Beaver Ponds, and the Gill Huff Loop. Classic tracks were reset on nearly every section as well.
Temps do look to get nearly cold tonight with the current Trail Creek forecast calling for -18ºF. Practice on Monday will probably be slightly lighter than usual as teams competing over the weekend have the day off and the Lollipoppers have cancelled already because of the forecast cold conditions. Tomorrow could be an amazing chance to break out your polar wax and have a great ski!
Groomer’s choice for today is the fields.
