January 18th Grooming Report
Plumes of Steam!
The temps actually dropped into the just below zero range this morning, making for some lovely plumes of steam as the Husky was once again busy doing its grooming thing at Trail Creek. Calm and sunny conditions are once again the rule, making it easy to maintain some nice firm ski trails.
The Husky covered nearly every trail in our 15+K network today, mostly making a single pass. The narrower sections predominantly did receive a fresh classic track with the wider trails only needing a skate buff to be in really nice shape. Some of the more heavily used classic tracks in the fields were also reset as needed.
The elk have continued to make their presence known by the abundance of hoof tracks every morning, and today a small bull moose was seeming to have a good time, perusing our trails as well. There have also been pine marten tracks many mornings although no sightings have been reported.
Finally thanks to Coach Kathy for submitting another great Lollipopper shot, this time with snoccer being played.
