January 18th Grooming Report
Don’t Spill the Beans!
In Coach Kathy’s never ending pursuit of bringing Nordic joy to kindergartners and first graders and doing so in a safe pandemic way, her latest inspiration was the game of “Don’t Spill the Beans”! While there are certainly challenges with growing up, every once and a while it would be wonderful to be 6 and a Lollipopper.
Even if you’re not a Lollipopper, you can have a wonderful ski today at Trail Creek. The “beautiful thing of the day” today was that there were some razor sharp wispy clouds hanging almost immobile on the sides of the ridges. Not a breath of air was stirring during today’s early morning grooming.
That early morning grooming ended up with a Husky pass on almost every trail. Classic tracks remain pristine in the cool and calm conditions, with the only ones being retouched significantly on the narrower wood’s trails. The full labyrinth of trails in the close field did receive a lot of skate grooming today. The current complicated mesh of trails all do have a purpose in the upcoming junior national qualifier and make for some great sunny skiing in the meantime.
Finally a couple of more great images from Ketchum, many thanks to Coach Luna!
Groomer’s choice for today is to try to hit every trail in the close field.
