January 18th Grooming Report

Breezy and a Foot!

Nearly a foot of heavy snow fell since yesterday’s grooming at Trail Creek and a moderate breeze is moving all that fresh powder around a bit today at Trail Creek.  Today’s Husky grooming began in the much calmer woods and covered most every trail with a single skate/classic pass.  Due to the drifting conditions, the fields were saved towards the end of grooming.  Moose Loop did receive a double wide pass today.  One final note, Gutflop received its first grooming of the year; use with caution as there are many granite dragons lurking just under the surface!

The high school team is off to White Pine Ski Area where the Pinedale Nordic team is hosting a two day race tomorrow and Saturday so ski traffic should be a bit lighter than usual Friday afternoon.

The weather for the next few days will continue with a little bit of snow and pretty warm temps around freezing which should make for some great skiing over the weekend.

Groomer’s choice for today is Moose Loop.
