January 17th Grooming Report
Seriously Leaden Sky!
What started as an ominous gray over the pass with the ridge tops shrouded in clouds has dropped down the canyon in the form of moderate snowfall at Trail Creek today. Overnight, three to four inches had already fallen with another foot or so supposed to come in the next 36 hours.
Many thanks to Coach Libby for sending in some Teewinot pictures from yesterday’s session; the sunshine and finally abundant snow appear to have resulted in lots of smiles. As of report time, Colter Winter Sports programs kids were cruising through the falling snow on the snow at Trail Creek, resulting in lots of ski tracks on the fresh groom.
That grooming happened this morning with the Husky and covered almost every trail. In light of anticipated heavy snowfall, the main mission du jour was a single skate/classic pass with multiple passes in the Close Field. Thanks to the width of our Husky, skiers should be able to find nice skiing today not matter what their technique.
Groomer’s choice for today is a long snowy cruise through the woods.
