January 17th Grooming Report

Races Finished and What’s Ahead!

Thanks so much to Coach Luna for capturing some great images from last weekend’s Junior National Qualifier #1 in Ketchum, ID.  Many of our athletes had outstanding performances, of special note is that Mason Wheeler was the number 1 placing U18 (top image above) in yesterdays' classic race and Lucas Wilmot number 3 placing U16 (bottom image above) in Saturday's skate race.  All of the results can be viewed on the event website.

While the Comp/Prep team has the day off today after such a busy weekend, it will still be quite busy later this afternoon at Trail Creek.  The image above shows the tentative schedule for this week for the wide array of groups that practice here at Trail Creek.  There is a high school meet in Laramie this upcoming weekend as well.

Today at Trail Creek the dry and clear conditions continue for yet another day.  Overnight temps dropped to around zero and as of report time have climbed up into the teens with calm winds and a generally sunny sky.  Almost all trails received Husky grooming today.  While skate lanes were the primary focus, many classic tracks were retouched as well.  Special emphasis was placed on play areas for the multitudes of little skiers that will be enjoying our terrain later in the day.

Groomer’s choice for today is fully reworked Woolsey Woods.
