Masters Return to Trail Creek!

After beginning the season at the Teton Pines' wonderful Nordic facilities, the JHSC Masters Program has transitioned to the Trail Creek for the rest of the season.  Coaches Rob and Kirsys do a fantastic job of spreading the Joy of Nordic to adults in the community through this great program and they will be working hard to teach Nordic skills for the three additional weeks of practice at Trail Creek this season.

Lots more Joy of Nordic is going on at Soldier Hollow in Utah today where a large group of JHSC skiers are competing in the first junior national qualifier of the year for Intermountain Division Nordic.  All the information is available at this event web page and results can be viewed at the Muddy Dog Sports web page.

Having over 40 racers in Utah means that it will probably be somewhat quiet at Trail Creek today so if you’re having a hard time getting through the last day of the work week, how about a great Nordic ski?  The weather is pretty favorable today with a report time temp of 29ºF, gentle breezes, and light snowfall.  Sometime over the night the wind did pick up a bit, but is not really an issue at the current time, about an inch of snow has fallen so far today.

Today’s Husky grooming covered nearly every trail.  All classic tracks were reset today and the Close Field received multiple passes with double classic tracks.  The warm temps today should hopefully result in some easy striding for skiers, conditions are nice pretty much everywhere.

Groomer’s choice for today is the Close Field.
