January 16th Grooming Report
Top 10 Day!
Temps in the 20’s, a few inches of freshly groomed powder, calm winds, and plenty of sunshine; it doesn’t get much better than this. If you are a winter Nordic kind of person, today is your day for a great ski!
Today at Trail Creek the Husky has been extra busy in anticipation of lots of afternoon skiers. First thing this morning was laying out the Nordic X version 1.1. While a little on the rough side, the first iteration is skiable and will only get better as it is groomed additional times. Also all five of the potential play areas (the Stadium, Aspen Bump Stadium, Skyview Stadium, Lollipopper Land, and Moose Loop Stadium) are buffed and ready for Nordic soccer or whatever crazy game the coaches come up with.
We haven’t forgotten the rest of the skiers with at least a single skate/classic pass on every trail with double passes on the fields, Moose Loop, and Animal Farm. Skiing is simply really nice today.
Looking ahead this week, most youth skiers from Junior High on up will be headed to Soldier Hollow on Thursday for the IMD super qualifier. Masters also have an opportunity to head over the hill on Saturday for the great Spud Chase. After a busy early week, those of you left in the valley should have plenty of room on the trails.
Groomer’s choice for today is the sunny lovely fields.
