January 16th Grooming Report
Adding Up!
Looking at the stump holding the sign in the image above you’ll notice that the snow depth is in the 30 inch deep range back in the woods today with more on the way for the next few weeks; when you are fan of things Nordic, it is truly amazing to be able to access such bountiful snowfall. The deep white stuff is going to get nothing but deeper in the next few days with quite a bit more on the way.
As of 11 AM snowfall was continuing this morning with up to two inches having been received, the wind was calm, and the temperature was -9ºC/16ºF. The Pisten Bully was having a spa day today with a little bit of crack therapy but is expected to return tomorrow reenergized and ready to go. The Ginzu Groomer made nice work of today’s champagne powder, making two skate laps on most trails although the snow is light enough that even untouched sections can be skated quite easily. Classic tracks are untouched but should provide good progress as well.
There was a major moose convention this morning in the Beaver Pond area with a pair of cows and calves hanging out. They were last seen moseying towards the ranch so shouldn’t cause too much trouble.
Groomer’s choice for today is Black Hole.
