January 12th Grooming Report

Soaking up some Rays!

If you haven’t poked your head out in the last couple of hours, it’s time to reset your external temperature sensors.  After a few days of temps ranging down into the “pretty cold” range, today is an awesome day with the fancy digital thermometer in the Husky in the “nearly Nordic perfect” setting of right in the mid 20’s.  If the recent cold was whispering in your ear that you really don’t want to go for a ski today, that susurration no longer computes today!

The bull moose above with his antlers gone for the winter, was happily browsing around the cabin this morning and seems completely content to lounge in the sun, far enough off the trails, to watch the skiers go by.

Today’s grooming covered about 50% of the entire network.  The cold temps not only have been preserving the snow, but have also slightly diminished the number of skiers, allowing the snow to remain pristine.  The skate lanes in the fields were reworked as well as Grunt, Moose Poop, Outward and Homeward Bound, Black Hole, Animal Farm, and Olympic.  A new connector was groomed in the Boiler area today.

Groomer’s choice for today is to find the new grooming near Boiler.
