January 12th Grooming Report
Snow = Fun!
Coach Libby’s Teewinots ended up thoroughly shredding Son of Gutflop in yesterday’s practice. All the recent snow has made nothing but fun for this adventurous group of skiers, thanks to Coach Libby for the images, and thanks for giving the groomer something to do (grooming Son of Gutflop)!
While the ski pressure has been a bit on the light side today at Trail Creek, it hasn’t been boring. First off it a nearly new ski boot was discovered about half way down suicide. While winter walking dogs regularly loose booties in the snow, one would think that a skier might notice a missing boot. If you got home and realized something was amiss, you know where to look.
Also the wildlife were especially busy today with several moose sightings and over a dozen elk lounging in the Cle’s Climb area. They had mostly moseyed off to their day beds by the time grooming wrapped up, but you still could catch a glimpse.
Today’s Husky grooming got a pretty good handle on the recent snowfall. Double classic tracks returned to the fields today with at least a single pass and a fresh classic track everywhere. Moose Loop, Olympic, and the fields received multiple passes. Since yesterday’s grooming about an inch had fallen and this morning’s cooler temps all made for some nice skiing today.
High school skiers are off to Lander on Friday so Coach George’s Juniors will be the biggest presence tomorrow afternoon, making for a relatively light day.
Groomer’s choice for today is Olympic.
