The Intermountain Youth Championships was held this past weekend in Sun Valley. The weekend event is designed as one of the Intermountain season finales for U8-U16 and athletes. U8-U14 athletes were scored on their individual classic start race and obstacle course/flying downhill on Saturday and Sunday classic mass start race. JHSC Nordic came in 4th among all of the Intermountain teams and one Alaska team and topped all of the teams for the sportsmanship award!
With the Fairbanks, Alaska Nordic team in attendance, David King managed to win the skate and classic race, Lena Poduska (U10) came in 2nd in the skate and 3rd in the classic, Peter Concannon was the champion in the U12 mass start classic race, Jack Love came in 2nd in the 5km skate and won the 5km classic for U16s and Ben Williams took home the win in both the skate and classic for the Novice.

David King's culmination of points throughout the season in intermountain JNQs and at the finale IYC gave him a commanding lead to be crowned the 2017 U14 cup champion.
