Freeride Summer Happenings

As always the Freeride Program has a lot in the works for this summer.  We are hoping to keep seasonal participants involved with the program throughout the rest of the year so that we can work toward our goal of improving the program and the community that we serve.  Below you will find our many program offerings and updates.  Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Summer strength

New this year, we are encouraging any interested athletes to participate in the Nordic Summer training programs, as they are a well established fitness routine that will benefit all involved.  Sport specific programming will be implemented in place of the roller ski portion for FRP athletes.  Joining with the existing Nordic program allows us to have a critical mass of athletes training together and a bigger group makes for increased moral.

More information about the Nordic training can be found here.

Axis Gymnastics Re-Opening July 15th

We strongly encourage all Freeride program participants to spend time at Axis this summer.  Trampoline training and tumbling will be crucial to your improvement on snow and is considered a year-round component of the Freeride Curriculum.  For more information and updates about Axis, please visit here.

Sumer Shred Camp, June 17 - 28 - Mammoth, CA

There are still a few spots left for the Mammoth Summer Camp if anyone has changed their mind about this.  This will be an incredible opportunity to train with the team and visit a world class resort.  We have priced this camp to be what we feel is the best value of all summer camp options.  According to the USSA Development Matrix, it is recommended for youth snow sports athletes in Phase 3-4 (ages 9- 16) of development to spend 7-20 days on snow in the summer.  This camp opportunity would fulfill that recommendation.

More information about the Mammoth Camp, or to sign up please visit here.

Beartooth Pass IFSA Competition June 11-15

We are sending a couple JHSC athletes with the Teton Valley Ski Education Foundation (TVSEF) to the Beartooth Pass for the first IFSA Regional Competition of the 2017/18 season.  If you are interested in attending this trip please email TVSEF Executive Director, Corey Mcgrath.

Utah Olympic Park Summer camps

We are also hosting a few trips to the Utah Olympic Park in Park City.  These trips will be an incredible opportunity to use the brand new Airbag jump and the water ramps.  For more information about this trip, or to sign up, please visit here.

Skateboard Camps

These camps fill up fast and are a blast for all involved.  We are sold out of the first two camps so we have added another camp that will undoubtedly fill up as well.  For more information or to sign up for the camp ASAP, please visit here.

Mountain Bike Skills Camps

New this year we are offering two camps to help youth get more comfortable on their bikes before hitting the trails.  These two-day camps will be focused for beginners and intermediate youth riders.  The mid-week camps are open to riders ages 8 and up.  For more information or to register, please visit here.
