February 9th Grooming Report--Soft Sunday!

February 9th Grooming Report

Soft Sunday!

An inch of fresh cold snow fell overnight and while not “major dump” soft, it has resulted in some lovely soft silky corduroy today.  Even the light is kind of soft today, being filtered through a few flakes and some very thin clouds, there’s plenty to see, but it’s not blinding you either.  Today is the kind of day when soft and Nordic actually go together pretty well.

Today’s early morning grooming began with the Husky making a lap through almost every trail in the woods.  Classic tracks were set along the way and the little bit of new made things look quite pristine.  The next agenda on the mission was to make multiple passes around the fields.  Single classic tracks were set in the East Fields with double tracks in the Close Field.

IMD racing continues today in West Yellowstone, our skiers have put in some good times which you can view here.  A quite friendly calf moose was hanging out in the East Field Woods this morning, showing no inclination of going anywhere.

Groomer’s choice for today is to see if you can spot the calf moose.
