February 6th Grooming Report--Trail or No Trail, Let’s Ski!

February 6th Grooming Report

Trail or No Trail, Let’s Ski!

Whether your preference is breaking your own back country trail or cruising some fresh corduroy, living where we live the options are almost limitless.  If fresh Nordic corduroy is your thing, then plenty of nice skiing can be found today at Trail Creek.  While yesterday brought one of the windier days of the year so far, conditions have calmed with the cloud cover forecast to burn off later today.  The result should be a great afternoon for a Nordic ski.

Almost every wood trail received a single Husky pass around sunset last night with about 30% of the classic tracks being touched up along the way.  The fields all received early morning grooming with both classic and skate passes.  While our snow could use a refresh, the Husky continues to do a fantastic job of keeping it fresh.

Many of our local high school skiers competed yesterday in the final day of the Lander Invitational Nordic meet, full results can be viewed here.  Our very own Kate Brigham and Mason Wheeler once again dominated yesterday’s classic race.  The image below is another of our up and coming skiers, U16 Lena Poduska from a recent race.  Lena’s been right on Kate’s tail this year in many races, look to hear more about her in the years to come.
