Skiing in Style!

The young man above was out yesterday on skis that are probably older than he is but they were well maintained and the rare wooden beauties were moving him along nicely.  You might also note that there was no spandex on this vintage style skier; wool was the material of choice for those ski pants.

Moving on to today, the really good news is that the Pisten Bully is back in service.  Our trusty mechanic managed to get the 130+ pound final drive installed last night just in time to make some nice tracks for our upcoming Nordic Carnival on Saturday at 10 AM.

Today’s grooming was double passes of the Nordic Carnival race courses and the Nordic X course.  Most of the race courses also received a classic track today as well.  If you click on the map you can get a detailed view of the courses, note that there are a couple of minor new routings.

As of 11:45 AM the temperature was -9ºC/16ºF with calm winds and some very light snow fall.  Conditions are mostly very nice.

Groomer’s choice for today is to ski the Nordic Carnival course.
