February 28th Grooming Report
Cabin Moose!
This little bull was happily hanging around the cabin this morning at Trail Creek. There was no sign of mama around but he seems to be doing pretty well and looks quite healthy. He did give a “I’m a tough guy” head shake so it’s a good reminder, even moose calves have very sharp hooves; enjoy, but give our moose plenty of room.
Even though there was a lot of moose activity today at Trail Creek, you should still have plenty of room to have a great Nordic ski. The Husky was hard at it today, covering nearly every trail in the network. In the woods the classic tracks were holding well so the focus was mainly on skate lanes. The fields received multiple passes with fresh classic tracks. The Nordic X also received a rework today.
Tomorrow is the Youth Festival over the hill in Idaho. It’s looking to be an epic event on a gloriously beautiful day. Parking is only available with a shuttle, but spectators are welcome. Parking is in Victor at the school at this address. High school racers are competing today in Laramie for the state championships, results should be available on the Wyoprep website later in the day.
Groomer’s choice for today is to find a moose, but not too closely on your TGIF ski today.
