February 23rd Grooming Report
Daily Birds!
While our moose are probably the most notable local resident, we also have a healthy population of birds hanging around Trail Creek as well. On any given day lately, you stand a good chance of spotting a grouse, chickadee, raven, magpie, or stellar jay on a Nordic ski. If you’re lucky some days we’ve spotted all kinds of raptors, bluebirds, and even Canada geese. Keep your eyes open on your next ski outing, and who knows what you might spot.
If you make it out to Trail Creek today, you will spot lots of fresh grooming. As noted yesterday, we are minus a functioning hydraulic hose on the Husky today; the good news is that a new one is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow morning. Never fear, the Ginzu leaped into action today, making multiple passes of nearly every trail.
While the results weren’t quite as picture perfect as the Husky can make, skiing should actually be quite nice as a fair number of skiers already have been demonstrating. Classic tracks were not reset but should ski fine too. Snow has begun to fall with light to moderate breezes and a report time temperature of 39º.
Groomer’s choice for today is to see what you can see on your ski.
