February 20th Grooming Report
Topping Out the Weirdness Charts
Today’s grooming experience was definitely a strange one. Gusts up to 30mph and blowing snow brought occasional whiteout conditions, but this was paired with temperatures reading upwards of 42 degrees! Many of the fields trails will likely be gone by this afternoon, so skiing in the woods might be advised. Additionally, grooming has now shifted back to race-focused, in preparation for the upcoming state finals, so several trails will be abandoned for the next week.
Today’s grooming was of the race course, with single or double grooming as was appropriate. Classic tracks have been put down on the entire course for race preview purposes, but will be removed over the next few days. Most fields grooming was damage control, so hopefully it will be easier to see tomorrow, but the Stadium, Lower Stadium, and Lollipopper land, at least, got full groomings. Skyview was drifting in before I came around for a second pass, so was left as-is for the moment.
Groomer’s choice for today is getting into the woods and skiing the race course.
