February 16th Grooming Report
Thanks to all the Moose Chasers!
Thanks to all who raced, volunteered, or spectated at yesterday’s Moose Chase! It takes a community to put on such an event and because all of you, yesterday was a success. The first image below is of around 50 young skiers taking off on the 2 K distance. You can see a video of the start by clicking here.

Today’s grooming began in the woods, making a single lap on almost every trail. Nearly every trail did receive a pass; ones that had been abandoned for the race will be narrow for a day or two. Snow has been falling lightly since grooming began early this morning, conditions will be a bit rustic today as some of the trails have had nearly three feet of snow since the most recent grooming. On top of that, the snow is supposed to keep coming down for the rest of the day. The fields also received several passes with fresh classic tracks. Yes it will be soft, but a snow day is always a treat, enjoy your ski today!
Looking at our local snow reporting station Phillips Bench, we’re sitting right at 100% of normal for the year so far, a pretty big climb from just a few days ago. Looking ahead, it looks like it will just keep on coming for the foreseeable future; snow is always a good thing in a ski valley!
Groomer’s choice for today is a cruise through the snowy woods.
