February 13th Grooming Report
Oh Boy…?!
Coach Kathy has lots of opportunities for some awesome shots when she is out and about with her Lollipoppers and yesterday was no exception with this classic shot of one of our little skiers poised on the brink of Gutflop. The grooming department is happy to report no residue at the bottom of Gutflop this morning so apparently the descent went off flawlessly. Thanks Coach Kathy and way to go Lollipoppers!
You probably won’t find any Lollipoppers today at Trail Creek, not to mention Teewinots, Juniors, Devos, Prep, or Comp skiers. While the younger crowd skies the first half of the week, the rest are off to Soldier Hollow for the final Junior National Qualifier of the season. Click on the image below and you will be taken to the website with all the information about the event. It should be some exciting racing as we have a great group looking at making it to the Junior National Championships at Donner Summit, California. Go racers!
Today at Trail Creek in addition to potential solitude you’ll find lots of good skiing. Conditions as of 11 AM are sunny and pretty warm at -2ºC/28ºF. However, there is a pretty stiff breeze blowing that is moving some snow around in the fields. Most trails received Pisten Bully best line skate grooming and the classic tracks were mostly reset in the fields as well although the tracks were disappearing rapidly. Trails in the woods are really nice.
One new thing you might notice today, the Seiffert Family who graciously allow us to ski on their property in sections like Moose Loop and Armin’s are coming to their cabin this weekend. In anticipation the access trail for their snowmobile was set today which you would be welcome to ski today. If you see the any of the Seiffert’s over the next week, be sure to wave and say thanks.
Groomer’s choice today would be to ski in the less windy woods.
