February 13th Grooming Report

Anticipation

With the Moose Chase over, and the Nordic State Championship still several weeks away, Trail Creek waits in anticipation of what is to come. The Husky did its work well, rolling over, around, and through obstacles and trails to bring fresh corduroy across the trails and allowing its many skiers to enjoy their time and get their exercise. We got some great photos from the Moose Chase over the weekend; of particular note: current coach George Cartwright won the men’s 20K, and former coach and program skier Jessi Knori won the woman’s 20K. Congratulations to them both! Full results can be seen here: https://jhskiclub.org/moosechase

Today’s grooming was single or double passes across almost every trail in the network. Almost all ungroomed trails have been worked in at this stage, with only a few connectors left to catch on the next pass. Additionally, every stadium was groomed, including the lower stadium, Lollipopper Land, and Skyview. Trails were a bit chunky in some places, so the Nordic X was left as-is with hopes for new snow in the next few days. Reports from the trails have been very nice, and that classic kick is excellent with just a little Blue Extra.

Groomer’s choice is Woolsey Woods.
