February 10th Grooming Report

Labyrinthian Maze

If you’re looking for an adventure today, you couldn’t go too far wrong with attempting to ski every groomed trail in the fields at Trail Creek.  We have the stadium, Aspen Bump stadium, and Sky View Stadium, we have the Nordic X course, bigger and growing, we have East Fields Woods shenanigans, we have an alternative sprint course, and we even have the regular old trails complete with mostly double classic tracks.  Ski every one of those, and you’ve gone a long way!

Today while Trail Creek will be busy with our younger skiers, we will be a little less busy than some Mondays as our Juniors on up have the day off after a busy weekend of racing.  Wilson Winter Sports are done for the year as well as the mid-day master’s program.  There will be some parents on skis on some Wednesday afternoons, learning the Joy of Nordic while their kids are doing the same.  Don’t forget the most important thing this week, the Moose Chase on Saturday the 15th!

Today’s grooming in addition to all that is described above, made a lap through the woods setting classic tracks along the way.  Animal Farm, Outward Bound, and Homeward Bound received multiple passes.  Since yesterday’s grooming we received a scant inch of fresh snow.  That combined with the lovely moderate (20º as of report time) temperatures allowed the Husky to do a fantastic job today; another great day to ski.  A pretty friendly bull moose calf was contemplating doing Faceplant this morning.  We can report that when the Husky headed his way, he did it in style, seeming to enjoy the gravity assisted speed.

Groomer’s choice for today is to ski all the trails in the fields.
