December 4th Grooming Report
Busy Badgers and Squirrels!
A couple of fascinating sights were spotted around Trail Creek during today’s grooming. First off in the Shades of Gray area one particularly industrious squirrel had been extra busy, depositing hundreds of cones directly on our lovely trails. If you have a bit of TGIF fever today and are chomping at the bit to take off for the weekend, a possible way to pass the time would be to count the cones above and let us know just how busy that squirrel was.
The other assiduous resident today was our badger. The image above is a huge mound of dirt at the base of “Son of Gutflop”, one of our kid’s favorite jumping areas. When a bit of snow falls on this 3 foot pile of dirt the kids will have the base of an amazing kicker, thanks badger! While the East Fields are waiting for more snow to be set, there is a Ginzu rabbit trail leading out through the East Field Woods that you could use to check this out if you would like.
Yesterday was a light practice day and therefore today’s grooming only really needed a quick pass of the Ginzu to buff out the tracks. Most every trail did receive a pass and skiing will continue firm and fast today. Pretty good classic tracks will be found in the close field and in the Armin’s area.
Groomer’s choice for today is Cle’s Climb.
