December 31st Grooming Report
Off to Senior Nationals!
Coach Will and a van full of our skiers are off to Soldier Hollow in Utah today to partake in the 2022 L.L.Bean U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships and Supertour. All the information is on the website; it should be a fun event and if your feet are getting a bit itchy, perhaps a good excuse for a road trip to Utah, go skiers!
If you’re looking to put some go in your skiing today, you couldn’t go wrong with coming on out to Trail Creek for a great Nordic ski. The snow continues to deepen with another 6 inches since yesterday’s grooming. We are forecast to get a couple of days of chilly sunshine and then the snow starts in again.
Today’s grooming was with the Husky and on most trails. With the wider width of our new machine a single pass makes respectable skate and classic lanes although many of our trails will end up wider when the snow lets up a little bit. Parts of the close field, Animal Farm, Beaver Ponds, and Moose Loop received multiple passes today. All in all skiing is a bit soft but beautiful and great.
A slightly cantankerous looking young bull was spotted near the Boilers today, thrashing his head about and just looking kind of feisty. If you spot him out and about, you might give him an extra margin of space.
Groomer’s choice for today is to check out the new grooming on Beaver Ponds.
