December 31st Grooming Report

New Year’s Eve!

Another year is nearly behind us and if you want to finish up your year in style, you could put a lot of Nordic trails behind you today at Trail Creek as well.  If that is part of your year-end plan, what you will discover is lots of freshly groomed trails.  The Husky was hard at work today, covering nearly every trail in the system except for Gut Flop which is waiting for a little more snow.

The Close Field and Animal Farm received multiple passes today with fresh classic tracks, the East Fields received a skate pass, and most trails in the woods received a single skate/classic pass.  The cooler temps (21ºF at report time) have allowed the bases to firm nicely and the fresh half inch overnight contributed as well to some lovely conditions today.

Coach Luna and a few of the IMD racers are in Anchorage, Alaska at the SuperTour #2- U.S. National Championships at Kincaid Park.  You can follow the exciting action on the event website.  The latest forecast is calling for a 90% probability of heavy snow on New Year’s Day with up to a foot of accumulation by sunrise Thursday morning.

Groomer’s choice for today is Animal Farm.
