December 30th Grooming Report
The Joy of Nordic!
The youngest and the oldest from Saturday’s Betty Woolsey are showing nothing but joy after finishing their races in good style. Stanley Sehnert and Heinz Walter came out and showed the rest of us how to do it, Nordic at its best!
There is a lot more great Nordic happening this week with another racing event in the form of a 10 K freestyle sandbag race next Saturday January 4th here at Trail Creek along with JH Nordic Alliance’s 4th Annual Free Ski, Fat Bike, & Snowshoe Day coming up on Sunday January 5th; a couple of additional amazing opportunities to enjoy our wonderful local Nordic community.
Today at Trail creek you will find nothing but endless sunshine and kilometers of great skiing. While the noon temp of -16ºC/3ºF might be a bit of a dissuasion, let your knowledge of layering and the potential of a great ski break your cold barriers and come on out for some great exercise. Today’s Pisten Bully grooming was single or double passes of almost every trail. Most passes focused on skate lanes although a few classic tracks have been retouched. The Nordic X course is once again on the grooming circuit and Sky View stadium while still really rough, received its first of the year grooming along with Gut Flop.
Looks like a big dump coming on New Year ’s Day so next weekend’s events should be that much better.
Groomer’s choice for today is the sunny fields.
