December 2nd Grooming Report--Time to Ski!

December 2nd Grooming Report

Time to Ski!

December is upon us as well as a reasonable amount of snow, so let’s dust off those old skis and start logging some Nordic skiing days for the 2024-2025 season at Trail Creek!  Admittedly conditions are a bit thin so use caution and leave your new gear in the wrappers for a bit, but there’s no reason you can’t enjoy the lovely blue skies this week and get some Nordic K’s under your belt.

If you’re lucky enough to make it out today what you will discover is that the Close Field has been rolled then lightly Ginzu’d and while there is still plenty of stuff sticking through, your skis will find plenty of snow to slide on.  Nearly every trail in the woods has been rolled as well, and while the nature of these trails is naturally rougher, a few adventurous skiers have been making plenty of tracks.  The East Fields will not be groomed until around 24 inches of snow has accumulated.

IMD teams will commence training in force this week and look for burning and trail maintenance in the days to come.  Grooming will not be happening on a daily basis until we get another major snow event, so look for future grooming reports on the days that we do smooth out a majority of the trails.

Groomer’s choice for today is some “pretty good for the conditions, all things considered”, laps in the sunny Close Field
