December 2nd Grooming Report-Lots of First Passes

December 2nd Grooming Report

Lots of First Passes!

The picture above is of our trusty Pisten Bully feeling its way up Homesite on the initial pass for the 2019-2020 season, finding lots of early season snow to happily thrash on its way.  That has been the main story as of late with as of noon today most major trails being groomed except for the Black Hole / Boiler area.

Overnight we received about an inch of snow with an additional inch falling during grooming and moderate snowfall continuing as of report time.  Today’s grooming in a nutshell was a total rework of the close field including double classic tracks, single Pisten Bully skate only passes of all woods trails worked before today, and double skate only passes on most National Forest trails.  While conditions are a bit brushy and soft, for this early in the season we are off to a roaring start.

Today was also a great wildlife day with our winter residents beginning to settle in.  Remarkable today were family pairs of mamas and twins for both mule deer and moose with both trios being quite photogenic as you can see from the linked thumbnails below.  They all look quite healthy indicating a good summer.

Groomer’s choice for today would be the close field, Armins, or Homesite as all three have the best early season snow.
