December 21st Grooming Report
Saga of the Sleeping Snowman!
Yesterday the grooming report forwarded a Teewinot blog of the discovery of a “nappy snowman” resting in the East Fields (yesterday’s image below). After posting the grooming report, word came in detailing the genesis of this snowman as well as an image of him when he was much more wide awake. It turns out that Director Ali’s son Stanley was the engineer behind a pretty substantial, slightly unstable, but very endearing snowman. Thanks Ali and Stanley for enhancing the Trail Creek experience!
You too can create your own Nordic saga today if you come on out to Trail Creek. While the East Fields where Nappy the Snowman is resting are still one snow cycle away from being groomed, pretty much every other trail received Husky grooming today. The narrower trails with classic tracks received a skate/classic pass, many of the woods trails are waiting for a bit more snow before receiving classic tracks, and the classic tracks in the Close Field were in good shape and mostly untouched today although the skate lanes received multiple grooming passes to place some lovely corduroy.
Some of our IMD racers are participating in the second day of racing in Steamboat Springs, Colorado today; check out the event page and you can see how well our skiers have done. Weather-wise it looks like we’ll get a heavy dusting overnight with about 4 inches by Monday evening which will give us a great refresh of the trails. More snow on Christmas day.
Groomer’s choice for today is Homesite.
