December 18th Grooming Report
Chilly Morning Stroll!
One of our resident cow calf pairs of moose were happily strolling around the East Fields early this morning, nibbling here and there on whatever tasty morsels they could discover. The subzero temps didn’t seem to bother them at all.
Those early morning subzero temps are climbing pretty rapidly today, which should make for a pretty pleasant Nordic ski later in the day. If you’re lucky enough to make it out to Trail Creek, you’ll discover lots of fresh grooming. While classic tracks which were all reset yesterday and are mostly skiing pretty nicely, nearly all skate lanes were reworked this morning. The fields, Armin’s, and Moose Loop all received multiple Ginzu passes while most of the rest of the woods trails received a best line Ginzu pass. All in all skiing should work quite well today.
If you’re interested in the weekend’s racing in Pinedale, full results are available on the High Plains Nordic site. Look for another busy practice week coming up with schedules changing a bit when school lets out later in the week.
Groomer’s choice for today is Cle’s Climb.
