December 10th Grooming Report
Running Full Speed Ahead!
After a day of no grooming due to working on the Husky, grooming is back in a big way. The bad news on the Husky is that it will be out of commission for some time with the most likely cause being that an engine defect has surfaced which needs to be addressed. The good news is that Prinoth is working as hard as they can to make things good for us and our skiers. Repairs will be initiated very soon and in the meantime the forecast of cool conditions and light snowfall should allow our snow machine to do a pretty good job of maintaining the nice bases already established by the Husky.
In the past 24 hours Trail Creek has received 4-6 inches of snow. The first pass of the day was with the Ginzu, laying in fresh classic tracks pretty much everywhere. The snow was just a bit too deep for the Ginzu to do a good job on the skate lanes so at that point our new roller finished the day with multiple passes on all of those same trails. 90% of our trails received at least two roller passes plus Ginzu classic tracks.
Look for early morning Ginzu grooming tomorrow with around three inches of fresh snow on Sunday.
Racing is happening to the east (Laramie) and to the west (Sun Valley) today. If you are a high school age and a Nordic skier, you are probably racing today. High Plains Nordic hasn’t posted any results yet from the high school race, but Sun Valley Nordic has live results on their website so you can see how our racers are doing.
Groomer’s choice for today is Moose Loop.
