Backcountry - November Newsletter

Winter came early!  Skiers are already enjoying some October powder turns in the high mountains.  This is very exciting, but remember early season backcountry skiing requires a high level of avalanche awareness and route finding technique.  The snowpack is not set up yet and avalanches are very unpredictable this time of year!

4 Month Backcountry Program

4 Month Backcountry Program is a go!  A few remaining spots for the backcountry team.  This program includes weeknight training sessions at Snow King Mountain, and several guided touring days in Grand Teton National Park.  Athletes will also earn an Avalanche Level One certification upon completion of the program!

  • post trip debriefing and analysis

Check out the JHSC backcountry program webpage for more info and to sign up!
