Backcountry March Newsletter

With all the snow that February has brought to the Tetons we are looking forward to the upcoming Backcountry Program events in March.

An avalanche level one course will be held through the American Avalanche Institute March 15 - 17th.  This course is specifically for the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club.  There are still a few spots remaining and it is not too late to sign up.  This is a great course for anyone with some backcountry skiing or snowboarding experience, looking to further develop their avalanche education in the mountains.  The signup link can be found here:  https://www.americanavalancheinstitute.com/sign-up/?course=485%C2%A0

We also have a second touring day with Jackson Hole Mountain Guides scheduled for March 20th.  This will be similar to the tour in January which was very fun, we will spend a full day backcountry skiing somewhere in Grand Teton National Park.  Location will be determined closer to the date depending on conditions.  Any skier or snowboarder over the age of 13 is welcome on this tour.  It will be suitable for first time beginners, but we do ask that you feel comfortable riding variable off piste conditions up to black diamond difficulty.  Rental gear is available as well.  This should fill up quick, as it is limited to four athletes.  We will have a waitlist if more show interest and can schedule a second touring day later in the week.  Sign up link can be found here:  https://register.jhskiclub.org/registration/events/backcountry-ski-touri...
