U16 Team

U16 Nationals, Sugarloaf, Maine; April 2-6, 2022

It is a huge accomplishment to qualify for U16 Nationals: less than 50 women and 50 men in the entire country make the cut. The conditions at Sugarloaf, Maine, were very firm—one could say 'bullet proof' was a good way to describe it. Challenging to say the least, Reagan Harrison, Kye Bessette, and Mattias Wilson put up a good fight and learned a lot about skiing on those conditions. On the results side for the Jackson crew, it was pretty tough. Reagan had placed 6th in the second run of the GS but finished 12th, which she should definitely be proud of! All in all it was an amazing experience for these three Jackson athletes to get a taste of that level of skiing and traveling that far to race!—U16 Coach, Kristin Waddle

U12 Team

IMD Championships, Sun Valley, ID; March 17-20, 2022

The U10s and U12s had a great four days of racing in Sun Valley: all races were under beautiful spring skies! Coach Neiko Razinger notes that this was such a well-organized event that everything ran really easily for athletes and coaches alike. On top of all that, JHSC families were out in FULL support, doing everything from preparing and handing out snacks, transporting the JHSC tent shelters, and hanging out with athletes between races: this REALLY helps so that the coaches can put their full focus on the day's racers. The athletes were charging hard all weekend, and everyone showed up prepared for competition: many really stepped up for this race series, doing some of their best skiing this season and really beginning to look like racers. There was so much improvement to see!

The boys had several top-15 finishes, and the girls had several top-5 finishers. Congratulations to Taryn Moe, who was the Overall Champion.
