Alpine Newsletter
Picture: Setting up the bnet at Snow King for training after rolling it all up so the groomers could smooth up the sides of the trails! The net requires a lot of maintanence during the season to provide safe training for our athletes!
The Alpine Program has had an incredibly bust month of races and prepping for races! The conditions at Snow King for the most part during the month of January has been ideal! Grippy and very firm had helped all athletes at whatever age! Thank you to the athletes, coaches, parents, admin and volunteers for making this year successful so far! We appreciate everything everyone does each day to make the club what it is!
Wild West FIS
Picture: Kristin Waddle(start ref) & Dani Decker(starter) during the U14 Qualifier
The Wild West Elite FIS race in early January went well! We had strong fields, ability wise and numbers! The first day was challenging with a bit of rain at the base and then 8 inches of snow at the start of the GS. I want to thank the JHSC coaches and race crew for the hard work! It takes many hands to set up 2 venues and we appreciate the work it took from our staff to set up the GS & SL venues before the 1st run each day! THANK YOU!

U14 Qualifier
Almost immediately after the FIS race, we hosted a 3 day U14 tech qualifier! We are always happy to host races at us for our athletes! It gives them the advantage of racing on their home hill, sleeping in their own beds, not having to miss as much school and many other factors.

Wes Barron
The Wes Barron race went incredibly well this year! The weather was a huge part to that, but I want to thank Sean Hines for working so hard and striving to do what’s right for the athletes!

Thank you Volunteers
I want to express a huge thank you to the many volunteers who made it possible for JHSC to host races this season! December and January were extremely busy, and we know how big of an ask it can be to have 10-12 volunteers a day. THANK YOU!
Club Series/Flamingo Cup
The Bank of Jackson Hole Club Series Races have been a blast so far this year! We held the Caroline Classic GS at Snow King at the end of the December Holiday Break and then a couple weekends ago Targhee hosted a slalom! Jackson athletes have been skiing fast! Great job to every one of our kids who put themselves out there and compete!

Flamingo Cup: White Pine in Pinedale will host their 1st club series if quite a few years this Saturday February 8th! We are incredibly excited to have the beloved Flamingo Cup back in the club series line up! White Pine has struggled with lack of snow, a catastrophic fire destroying their base lodge and Covid made it difficult for many years. Make any effort to either race, spectate or support White Pine this weekend!
Trailblazer Film
The Alpine Program hosted Megan McJames’ film Trailblazer at the Center for the Arts on Feb 4th! We want to thank everyone you came and participated in the raffle! It was wonderful to see so many community members and club families!
“The inspirational story of Megan McJames’ six-year journey to become the first skier to qualify for the winter Olympic Games after being cut from the U.S. Ski Team. A female athlete battling against all odds, Megan hopes that her story of grit, perseverance and self-determination will inspire others to follow their dreams in the face of adversity.”
