Alpine December Newsletter

We are skiing!!!

After long summer and fall with dryland and skiing in Colorado we are finally skiing at JHMR and Snow King. Conditions are incredible!!
Now we will pay attention to fundamentals and we will gradually move into training gates.
For all JHSC activities MASKS ARE MANDATORY.
SOCIAL DISTANCING IS MANDATORY. NO CONGREGATING.
ACCESS TO INDOOR FACILITIES IS LIMITED.
I would really like parents to help us deliver a message to athletes of the importance of wearing masks.

Shed for storing skis at at Snow King is ready to be used. There is a combination lock on it and you can get number from your head coaches.
Thank you to families for helping us run programs in such a uncertain times.

FIS team race update

The US Alpine championships wrapped up last week after a long week with 8 starts in 5 days for each Gender. Athletes delivered on a variety of course sets, disciplines, hills, and amongst strong competition. Here is a recap of some of the results:

In GS Oliver, Bridger, Paige, and Sophia all managed to crack the top 30. In the DH's Paige, Oliver, and Sophia had their personal best results by a wide margin as they learn the game and continue to grow. Our girls were paired with A-team athletes and grew tremendously through the two days. SG was strong for our team with Sophia landing in 11th and Paige 16th in the National championships. Wyatt and Oliver had their personal bests results with Ollie making big move ups. Bridger and Oliver went back and forth both cracking the 30 in both races. The women's slalom saw max distance sets on a flat hill. All three girls broke the 30 with Paige sending her points for a dive with her second best result. Annaliese topped our girls group with a 19th and 21st. The boys team finished the Nationals slalom with Oliver in 8th, Bridger in 21st, and Waytt in 34th. Well done in a big week of racing!

In the National FIS Super G's Sophia Tozzi was 3rd and 5th. Paige Doyle was 5th and 13th. And Bella Foos was 21st and 28th. All three girls posted their 2 best Super G results.
