Libby grew up as the youngest of five children in a skiing family. Her early years were spent exploring "bumpy trails" at Bromley and Stratton Mountains and on wooden Nordic skis around the maple groves near her family's Vermont home. During her years at Middlebury College, she began skate and telemark skiing, which was inspired by her first visit to Jackson, in 1990. Upon graduating from Middlebury, she moved to Jackson to embrace mountain living. Before her children, BB (22), Elsie (18) and Whit (14) were born, she and her husband Taylor and spent many amazing days at JHMR and touring in GTNP and various trails around the valley on skis. All three of Libby's children have been in the JHSC Nordic Program, beginning in 2006, and have found an appreciation not only for the skiing skills they learned but for healthy living and the gift of growing up in the Tetons. She and her family love to spend time skiing and exploring together.
