Jon Filardo

Comp Team Coach

My name is Jon Filardo and I was born and raised in the "Curling Capital of America", Bemidji, Minnesota. Despite showing Olympic promise in curling by getting a B+ in my high school curling class, I stuck with skiing. I finally grew some muscle my senior year of high school and finished ranked as high as 2nd in Minnesota.  It was barely good enough to get me to Northern Michigan University where I achieved  NCAA All-American Honors at the 2002 NCAA Championships.

I moved to Jackson in 2003 with some former nordic skiers. I began coaching with JHSC in 2004. Since then, I have worked with U12's up to U20's. I have also been working with the US Ski Team since 2015 as a wax technician on the Europa Cup and at World Junior Championship events. I have witnessed both programs achieve never-seen-before success in the last 5 years to include National Champions from JHSC and World Champions with the US Ski Team.

I am proud to have been a part of the growth of the Jackson Hole Ski Club Nordic Team and the US development teams.

Coaching Philosophy:

Work hard, have fun, trust the process.
