Jon Filardo was born and raised in the "Curling Capital of America", Bemidji, Minnesota. Despite showing Olympic promise in curling by getting a B+ in high school curling class, Jon was stuck with skiing. He finally grew some muscle during his senior year of high school and finished ranked as high as 2nd in Minnesota. It was barely good enough to get him to Northern Michigan University, where he achieved NCAA All-American Honors at the 2002 NCAA Championships.
Jon moved to Jackson in 2003 with some former Nordic skiers and began coaching for JHSC in 2004. Since then, he has worked with U12s up to U20s. He has also worked with the US Ski Team since 2015 as a wax technician on the Europa Cup and at World Junior Championship events. Jon has witnessed both programs achieve never-before-seen success in the last 5 years to include National Champions from JHSC and World Champions with the US Ski Team.
Jon is proud to have been a part of the growth of the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club Nordic Team and the US Development Teams.
