Adam McCool

Adam McCool was born and raised in Wyoming. Adam’s father was a priest at St. John’s Episcopal Church and was a part of the National Ski Patrol at Snow King in the early 1960’s. It was Adam’s father who introduced him to skiing on Snow King Mountain at the age of three. His love for the sport continued throughout his youth. In his junior and senior years at Jackson Hole High School, he joined the Ski Team where he competed and was Team Captain.

Following his time at the University of Wyoming, he raced with the USSA Master’s Tour for Downhill throughout the West. During that same period, he also competed in Golande tournaments in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. In the late 1980’s he spearheaded an effort to bring the Golande competition to Snow King Mountain.

Adam is a long-time supporter of the Jackson Hole Ski Club, beginning with annual donations, to his children racing at The Club throughout school. At the founding of the Jackson Hole Town Downhill in the early 1980s, he competed in the inaugural race and participated for 41 consecutive years. He was instrumental in helping decide to move the Downhill to Teton Village. Currently, he takes an active role in coordinating the Downhill’s Team-Pro Event.

His love for skiing extends to watching World Cup Races every season, and in 2007 he made his journey to the Hahnenkamm. 2024 was also a memorable Downhill year, where the team he sponsored won the overall Team-Pro Event.

Beyond skiing, Adam embraces a wide range of outdoor activities including mountain biking, backcountry skiing, snowmobiling, road biking, and wake surfing. He also has a passion for paragliding, having served as President of the Jackson Hole Paragliding Club from 1996-1998.

In 1998 he started Jackson Hole Cycle and Saw. For twenty-three years he provided reputable service to valley residents. He is now an active real estate agent, a property manager, and an engaged community member. With his deep roots and extensive network, Adam is a well-respected figure among both locals and second homeowners in the Jackson area.
