Competitor

Tommy Moe sent the country into a happy frenzy when he won the gold medal in the downhill championship at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. Four days later, on his 24th birthday, he claimed the silver medal in the super-G, becoming the first American skier to win two medals at the same Olympics. Following his impressive Olympic wins, Moe won yet another gold, this time in the super-G at the World Cup in Whistler, British Columbia. In 1998, Moe returned to the Olympics once more where he finished eighth in the super-G and 12th in the downhill in Nagano, Japan. The Olympic gold medal earned Moe his position as the official ski ambassador of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Today the “Golden Boy” splits his time between Jackson Hole, where he can be found competing in JHSC’s annual Town Downhill race, and Alaska where he is co-owner of the Todrillo Mountain Lodge.
