Erich Wilbrecht’s skiing career all started with the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club. With guidance from the Club coaches, Wilbreacht had his first experience as a nordic athlete and learned the sport quickly. In high school, he made three Junior National Teams and captained his college team at Dartmouth. Soon after, Wilbrecht tried his hand at biathlon and found his sport. In eight years, Wilbrecht made five World Championship Teams, the 1992 Olympic Biathlon Team, won multiple National Championships and was North American Biathlon champion. He anchored the 4th place biathlon relay team at the World Cup in Overhof, Germany - the highest World Cup finish by any US Team. Wilbrecht won five overall Summer Biathlon National Championships and the first European Summer Biathlon event in Ruhpholding, Germany. In retirement, Wilbrecht continued racing summer biathlon, as well as marathon ski racing for the Fischer Factory Team for 7 years. Today, Wilbrecht resides in Jackson Hole where he is an avid skier, hunter, fly-fisherman, and JHSC supporter.
