Endowment & Scholarship Fundraising
At the Jackson Hole Ski & Snowboard Club, we believe every young person should have the opportunity to experience the mountains, build confidence, and develop the skills and values that help them succeed in sport and in life. Through skiing and snowboarding, athletes learn perseverance, teamwork, leadership, resilience, and a lifelong connection to community.
We also recognize that participation in winter sports can create financial barriers for many families. Through scholarships and endowment funds, JHSC works to ensure that cost does not prevent athletes from accessing opportunities to learn, compete, and grow.
Scholarship support may help offset program tuition, travel expenses, training opportunities, and other costs associated with participation. Awards are based primarily on financial need, while also considering an athlete’s commitment to academics, personal growth, sportsmanship, and JHSC core values.
JHSC is honored to steward several scholarship and endowment funds that help support athletes and strengthen the future of our Club:
Wes Barron Memorial Scholarship Fund
Created in memory of Wes Barron, this fund provides need-based scholarship support for developing Alpine athletes, helping young skiers continue pursuing their goals and passions.
Betty Woolsey Olympian Endowment
Established in honor of Betty Woolsey, a member of the 1936 U.S. Women’s Olympic Alpine Ski Team and lifelong advocate for skiing, this endowment supports Alpine, Freeride, and Nordic athletes while continuing her legacy of excellence, determination, and personal achievement.
Karen Oatey Scholarship Endowment Fund
Created by Karen’s family, this fund reflects Karen’s passion for winter sports and her belief that all youth in our community should have the opportunity to discover the joy of skiing and snowboarding, regardless of financial circumstances.
Bill Campbell Legacy Fund
Established with Bill Campbell’s family, this fund provides long-term stability for the Club and future generations of athletes. Bill believed that while sport results may fade, the values learned through athletics can shape a person for life.
Together, these funds represent something bigger than financial support. They are investments made by families and community members who believe in creating opportunity, strengthening our community, and ensuring that every young athlete has the chance to become a champion both on and off the snow.
