November Alpine Newsletter

The Alpine Team had a very productive fall of dryland workouts and international camps. We have a great staff of coaches ready to foster an even more amazing group of athletes into the season.

Yoga is great for strength and balance!

Athlete Take!!  Below you will hear updates from several athletes of all ages!

U16 – The U16 dryland training is year-round and we have been workout since the spring! Ned has us training agility, strength, and power with some game days. We were able to get some great days at Axis through the fall and get some yoga classes from Ruby’s mom Niki Sue! We are excited for the Canada Camp in November and hopefully skiing at the King will start soon after that! – Bard Barnett

U16 – My name is Jaden D’Amours and I went to Chile for a Western Region FIS & U16 Project. It was an amazing experience for me because I was able to become friends with my peers from other resorts. I had a lot of fun getting better at traveling alone as well! – Jaden D’Amours

U14 – I love to play fun games of speed ball and I’m excited to learn how to race Super G this winter and to stay in shape throughout the winter – Max Clancy

U14 – I like how we get to do agility and make it a team competition/cheer on our teammates – Henry Schrauder

U14 – I like being with friends and being fit – Keely Stamps Corbett

U12 – I really like playing speedball! It’s fun and I like skiing and ski practice! I am excited to ski more! – Harrison Lyster

U10 – U10 dryland has kicked off with great success, especially due to the field games and Snow King hikes according to U10 Sally Decker. Sally has enjoyed freeze tag, doing speed ladders and getting to know her new teammates! – Sally Decker/BB Hall(Head Coach)

 

New Alpine Staff – Welcome!

Marissa Haase – Assistant FIS

Marissa will join Kevin Keane to lead our group of 11 FIS/PG athletes to a successful year! She comes to us from Killington Mountain School where she coached U16’s and ran strength & conditioning for the entire school! She was born and raised in New Hampshire!

Maci St. Cyr – Assistant U16

Maci joined Ned at the beginning of October and has been working hard to get the U16’s in great shape for the season! Maci comes to us from Plymouth State University and grew up a few hours north in Big Sky, Montana!

U12 – Cadel Carrigan, Lyons Brown & Jackson Ameden

U10 – Calen Carron

Fall On Snow Camps

Alpine Team is a week away from snow!

FIS Team: The FIS Team will be spending much of the next month in Copper! Nov 3-12 the team will train all together to prep for the Western Region Camps, Speed Projects, Noram Races and more that is scheduled to happen in the month of November in Colorado! Good luck FIS Team!

U16 & U14 Teams: This eager bunch is heading to Canada to check out the early season training Panorama has to offer!

The rest of our teams of young rippers will wait for Snow King and JHMR to open around Thanksgiving to get on snow locally! But in the mean time U10-FIS are all working hard at dryland to get ready for the season ahead!
