July Alpine Newsletter

The alpine athletes have been hard at work with dryland training and summer ski camp at Mt. Hood! Coaches Turner Brett and Mari Hanson just finished up an amazing week of skiing with a group of U10/U12 athletes! They skied for 5 days, hoped for 6 but had a weather day where the mountain didn't open. On the days they were able to ski the weather was incredible and made for very productive training! On the day off they went rafting on the Deschutes River which was a super fun day for coaches, athletes and parents! Each day they explored the area during dryland with gaga ball at a local elementary school to Mt. Hood Creamery for ice cream, hike into a lake & waterfall, and activities at the ski bowl adventure park!

Dryland workouts at Snow King are going really well! FIS & U16 athletes are dedicated to setting themselves up for a successful season! FIS works out at 7am and U16 at 8am for about 2 hours before it gets too hot or before their summer jobs begin for the day! It is never easy waking up early to work out, great job crew!

Have a great 4th of July!
