NORDIC SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Picou Spankie
In just 2 years with JHSC Nordic, Picou Spankie has shown what it means to take growth to a new level, to take a chance, and to be a real teammate.
Picou's Favorite Memory: Her first-ever club race in West Yellowstone: "I came to the finish line and the race organizers had already packed away much of the timing, v-boards, and other finish-line set-ups. I was the last finisher but as I came into the finish chute, I heard all of my teammates cheering me on, encouraging and reminding me that the race is not over until it is over and demonstrating the incredible support I have behind me even as a reverse-podium gold medalist."
Next Up: William & Mary! ... A future as bright as her mindset.
What She Learned: Consistency, commitment, and perseverance, because placing in a race doesn’t define you, but showing up always will.
Picou, your courage and character have left a real mark, and we are wishing you the best as your strive forward in your next steps! We are so proud to have you as an alumnae and in JHSC the past two years!
