Erme Catino is an avalanche educator, guide, and freelance writer. He has an M.S. in Environmental Studies and has worked in various roles within the ski industry – including running PR for brands, contributing to various ski publications, and as a correspondent for Powder Magazine for eight years.
He's typically walking around in search of powder or scheming his way to British Columbia. He began teaching avalanche classes in 2019 with the Utah Avalanche Center and helped coordinate a new youth program there. He also works as an instructor with the American Avalanche Institute, both in the Tetons and the Wasatch, and guides for Utah Mountain Adventures and Snowbird Mountain Guides.
